Long story short. Pulled heads... studs look like ####. Other than a wire wheel in a bench Vice I usually like to hand spin a die on my bolts to clean the threads of past sealant & debris.

Problem.... for some reason my dies won’t come close to spin onto my ARP studs. They are the correct size. Top and bottom. Does ARP have a specific cut or something?

For the block I have some simple thread chasers I use.

Thanks.

arp rolls their threads on the studs/bolts. that gives the threads a different profile that the dies you have wont follow. if the threads are in good shape, then the afore mentioned wire brush will clean them up just fine.

you can also use a good cleaner, like mr gaskets gasket remover to get rid of the debris.
