What is a good breather set up to go into my oil fill on my valve cover?

LMR and summit have them.

Curious how to properly run a breather set up on a EFI set up. Only the passenger side has the oil fill so is that enough?

Never run breathers before so looking for suggestions.

Are you running a pcv? If so then you don’t want the breather.

I ran a catch can from my pcv valve to my intake. It helped with the little bit of oil that would occasionally get sucked in.

Yes but not sure that’s enough.

How do you set up the catch can?

I’m pulling my upper off to retorque my lower now that I’ve got a bunch of heat cycles on my new motor so figue now is good time to do it

I just ended up using the steeda oil seperator kit. Works well.

I’m getting some smoke on start up and on hard downshifts.

Need to figure how to route everything right now I’ve got regular PCV on my Systemax and probably not enough

Street/strip car but motor is high compression 347 with a big cam in it.
if it doesn't have excessive blowby, you can use a separator and upsize the lines to it through from the PCV, no breathers

I had some small puffs on startup as well. Got this and it went away:

It doesn’t collect much. I’ve put a few hundred hard miles since install and there’s probably only about a tbsp or so of liquid in there.

I got rid of my pcv. I have an efi turbo setup. I have a breather on the passenger side and one where the pcv valve used to be on the back of the lower intake. I am making 17lbs of boost with my set up and don’t seem to be having any issues

Got any pictures of your set-up?

So do I just T off the of hose between the PCV and the intake to the separator?

I've got this coming in the mail.
I’ll take a picture when I’m back at the shop tomorrow.

But you’ve pretty much got it. You just connect the pcv vac line to the inlet on the seperator, then connect the line on the outlet side of the seperator to the intake.

They call for it to be connected to the strut tower but I just fab’d a little 90* bracket and riveted it to the firewall where the strut tower brace used to be. I’ll get a pic for you tomorrow. Took like 5 mins to install

Thanks, appreciate it. Rather not reinvent the wheel and put it in a good location rather than find out the hard way where not to put it.

I attached a couple pictures. I just fab’d a little 90* and painted everything black to match.

Don’t mind the rest of the car, it’s all taken apart to get the body painted.

The little bit of liquid in the reservoir is from a few hundred hard miles.

I’ve still got AC so don’t have the same location I think I’ll mount mine next to the vacuum ports on driver side.

Will be a project for this weekend.

With a n/a setup I’d be surprised if the oil seperator doesn’t solve your problem. You’re only running a tad more compression than me and it cleared my exhaust up.

Ditching the pcv system really shouldn’t be necessary until you go forced induction.

Ran a breather for a few years and got tired of oil mist. I put a check valve in the PVC line and now run a PVC setup again.
