Just curious, I'm running a 275/60 MT Drag Radial right now...

I want to see what guys are running on the 50 series (any DR), and what sort of 60' times are possible with the shorter sidewall.

I recently switched from a 275/60/15 MT to a 275/50/15 and I haven't gotten my 60ft back. I was running mid 1.6s and now my best is a high 1.7. I also switched the clutch from a king cobra (organic disc) to a ACT (ceramic disk). I just can get traction now...I think the clutch is shocking the tires too much. My datalogs were showing that the king cobra clutch was slipping on launch so I switched clutches.

The factory stock guys are running 275/50 BFGs and getting 1.5x 60fts so I'm not blaming the tire.

Wow, 1.39? That's impressive. What kind of suspension, shock settings, and tire pressure did you run? Is it an auto?

I seen a car down here that came to run in a low 5 second 1/8 mile class. It was an early 70s Chevelle. I was in shock when I saw the little 275/50 tires on it and that it was hanging with cars going 5.20s in the 1/8. He was competitive and I want to say I saw him crack off a 5.30 in the 1/8.
