Yes, but 30 years ago it was figurative for the most part, now they have gone seriously, literally, full on socialism. This is what nobody ever imagined could happen here, I didn't.

I’d never have imagined it either. But these days the ignorant masses of democrats are jumping for joy at every thing I hold opposite to my values.

Well I have decided to park the stang until I can buy new tires. They spun like crazy under light acceleration trying to merge from a stop onto 11E in Greeneville Sunday. It’s PAST time and I’ve got to admit that now it’s a safety issue.

I’ll put in the trickle charger as I plan to run our typical summer vacation to Maine for a couple weeks.

Once I return it’ll be NT01 time I think.

Thanks Michael. It’s my always been my mental “relax“ place even when I can’t be there.

Down side is that I am stopping to see my dad and his wife on way back thru CT. They are big time Biden supporters and eat the poolside powder dry so to speak. I need to let go of that before I go up to ME or it will taint my time there.

Yeah, definitely steer clear of any politics discussions. You aren’t going to change their mind. And they won’t change yours.

I am preparing myself to be excused with a bathroom call or “rumbly tummy” when some snide remark is ‘accidentally‘ dropped.

HOWEVER on the UP side I see that Manchin did not support elimination of the filibuster yet. So there’s hope our republic isn’t quite yet in the trash bin of history. I think this may delay things a bit IF it holds AND we get an amazing upset that can’t be STOLEN in the next 2022 voting cycle.

Many BIG ifs. I am not holding my breath. I think we are toast and my family will get the just desserts they’ve called for.

Aaaah.... I am not up to speed on news as I don’t watch anymore. Thanks for the update. My blood pressure is still quite good..... I need to keep it that way, if I followed all this I’d be afraid perhaps of having such issues.

Speaking of oil, how about a fun story of my oil changes yesterday?

So, I had a semi-aggressive plan after work to get a bunch of stuff done.

Work out
Go by moms for few minutes
Go home grab a quick bite
Change oil in geo
Change oil in escort
Change oil in Sonata

All went great. Geo and escort take 15 minutes tops. Sonata normally thirty.

However….I forgot the sonata last oil change was done at the dealer. Had a recall and they wanted people to do it so they offered a free oil change.

Pulled drain plug. Noticed it was a bit tight but nothing a double stacked 17mm and 15mm can’t handle.

Then go to filter. It’s mounted vertical and has a nice access hole right through the plastic pan. A bit tight to fit hand through but it’s only wrist deep.

Uh oh. It’s tight. Very tight. And confined quarters. Twist and tug and cuss for twenty minutes then remember I have my oil filter pliers handy.

Too much angle for them to work. Crap.

I have one of those cap type filter wrench’s. Once I find it, it’s the Wrong size.

I have one of those spider twist wrench things. Useless. Won’t grip tight enough.

Where’s my big channel locks? Can’t find then to save my life. Go get the next size down.

Did I mention my tools can be anywhere from camper, basement, detached garage or house garage? Lots of walking hunting them.

Finally get the sucker loose with the jaws running vertically and twisting. Bigger channel locks would have been nice. A piece of paint off filter fell in my eye. Emergency run into the house to have my wife get it out. Hurt like the dickens and was probably a mm in size. Came out without a fuss. Oh, and a minor cut on wrist from the razor edge plastic access to the filter. I was careful and didn’t have my index finger between the handles. Last time I did that, I broke my finger.

Well crap, moved oil catch pan to get better angle. Didn’t have drain plug in. Nice puddle on the floor. Grrr.

Wipe puddle up. Put drain plug in.

Filter on.

4.9q of full synthetic valvoline added.

Start cleaning up stuff. Wipe oil pan. Craaaaaaaap. There’s a washer. The ONLY car in my entire fleet that has a separate washer on the drain plug. Forgot about that. Didn’t realize it when plug came out. Didn’t notice the black washer on the black pan.

Lather rinse repeat. Drained my $25 worth of valvoline 5w30 full synthetic. Didn’t even bother to try and do a quick change. Drain access is through another cubbyhole and I knew I’d just pour oil everywhere.

Installed plug back in place. Even used washer this time.

By some type of miracle I actually had an additional five quart jug without having to go to town. Of course that was for two mowers but I’ll pick up some more.

Poured five more quarts of 5w30 valvoline pure synthetic in.

Cleaned up mess again. Examined the half dozen or so mosquito bites I picked up in that one plus hour debaclle.

Went in and showered. And how was your day?

Great story Richard!

Chris - I have no idea what’s going on with Manchin per se….I simply know he’s a politician and he knows how to create and then take advantage of leverage. I believe he’ll vote yes - but he wants something in return for that yes vote. And they haven’t agreed to his demand yet. When they do, the filibuster goes away —- and they simply do anything they want from that point on.

Lol Richard! Yep some projects do go like that. Glad your eye was/is ok!!!

I love those cup filter wrenches for times when I can’t get a sideways strap type wrench on them. It’s weird how they do tend to tighten themselves over time too. Better than loosen over time.

That makes sense Michael. Don’t count our chickens yet huh?

Just remember - ANY vaccine ca n cause unforeseen complications in some people. However - 1) it's completely unpredictable as to who it will affect that way, and 2) in all circumstances I'm aware of, your odds are MUCH better with the vaccine than with the illness.

This one just for you Chris..... ‘Chardonnay Antifa’: Community Rips School Board For Suspending Teacher Who Opposed Trans Pronoun Policy

Back to cars - having to lay up the front bumper in multiple pieces to get it out of the "mold". Got both wrap-arounds done using this 'rig'.

Cool pic. I actually though it was a trebuchet and was related to the school teacher article at first glance.

Yep- 1st Amendment does not exist anymore unless we agree with “them”. Cancel culture!

Frankly I am surprised they are pushing vaccine shots for conservatives also. I’d think they don’t allow the shots unless you AGREE with “them”. Let the conservatives die off!

I’m very glad my kids are out of school now. We almost put our youngest in home schooling. If I had young ones I’d probably do so now if I could pull it off logistically.

Nice work on the bumper molds. Good stuff right there.

Injection arm slightly sore this morn. No third ear lol. Do feel as though I am fighting a tiny bug. Hard to explain but it’s trivial really. Guess a bit achy, slightly chilly. I’ll see how today goes at work. Maybe a head home day and sleep it off unless things improve after a few coffees.

Do any of you follow Greg Hunter USA Watchdog.com?
