ive converted my gt rear discs with parts from a low milage 98 cobra a while back, when i did it i changed the axle bracket, moan brackets, and rear vented rotors from the cobra.i re-used my gt rear calipers and pads, the gt pads had less than 100 miles on them, all i had to do is put two small washers on th space the caliper around the rotor.the cage for the caliper on the cobras is connected across instead of open like the gt/v-6.is there any reason i should change to the cobra cage for the calipers for performance?or is it just that way for fitment?i wouldnt bother changing them for fitment as everything has worked fine the way it is(been on the car that way now for about 4 years and a couple track days)

I wouldn't bother.

Sure, there's gotta be some difference in stiffness, since the bracket ends are connected on the Cobra part. But it's kind of like having 1000 hp when your car can only usefully put down 500 hp.
