Alright guys, going to the track tomorrow. This will be the first time with an FI v8.

Here's the setup:

99 Cobra

Vortech V2 Strim, Intercooled, 10.5psi @ 6000rpm (more on this later)
Bassani Midlength Headers
Bassani Catted X
FR500 Catback
Anderson Powerpipe
Mondo Race Bypass
50# Injectors
80mm MAF
Dyno Tuned by Alternative Auto at 485/430

17x9 03 Cobra Wheels
275/40/17 MT Streets
FR 4.10s
Torsen T2R Differential
03/04 31 Spline Axles
Intrax Springs (NOT for drag racing, lol)
03/04 Bilsteins
Battery Relocation
Full Street Weight

I think thats it for anything that would matter. When I got tuned, we ran out of fuel at 6k so right now thats where my rev limiter is (6200rpm). Obviously, this is not optimal but I'm just going for fun so its no big deal.

So what do you guys think?

My last trip was [email protected] w/ 1.95 60ft on full exhaust, JLT CAI, and stock tune.

Where should I launch and what tire pressure? Also thinking about unbolting the front sway bar, but we'll see.

See, I'm a bit confused. I've heard low 12s from a few people. I ran [email protected] when I dynoed 302whp. At 485, shouldn't I be substantially quicker? I mean I was envisioning mid 11s but maybe I'm just too hopeful.

I don't really race on the street so I haven't been able to gauge what level I'm running at the moment.

I mean stock 03/04 cobras run mid 12s with a really good driver at 370-380whp. I don't know, maybe I was expecting too much out of a blower car.

I will for sure post up what it turns out to run.

what fuel pump are you using?
why is it running out of fuel at 6000?

I was on a single GT supercar pump and a BAP. My fuel pressure was dropping to 20psi at 6000rpm so my tuner set my limiter to 6200. Now I'm on an 03/04 setup and BAP, shouldn't have a problem.

Best of the night:
1.87 60ft
12.30 et
114 trap

Best trap of the night was 119.

I had a whole lot of trouble hooking to say the least. Having to shift at 6k also KILLED me. For whatever reason, after I shifted, at the beginning of the next gear, I would bog for a half second and then get going. I'm not sure if this is rpm related or tune related but it was definitely eating a little bit of my time.

1.87s on MT Street Radials sucks, lol. I just need some more practice is all.

Whoever said 12.30s or close (I know 91trunk hit it on the head ) pat yourself on the back.

Oh, and there were only two cars running faster than me.

An Evo ran a best of 12.29 and an R32 Skyline ran a best of 12.19. There was an all out supra there that run an 8 sec once and got back on the trailer.

Edit: This is at 90*F and 60% humidity.

go with a solid rear and launch it, my 99 with a t trim, 4.30 gears (built solid rear), exhaust and slicks 475/405 @ 6400 rpm (conservative dyno/tune) ran an 11.3 @ 123 2nd pass in the car. Was around 11-12 psi.

not a mod motor guy but I believe you really need to fix it to raise your shift points, that's a motor that breathes better at higher rpm, there's a guy in tampa (I haven't seen in a couple years) was running n/a 12.26 I believe with bolt ons, 4.56's and a very high rpm launch and some awesome driving skills (bitemark 4.6 are you on here?)
