I am installing my on3 kit. I got the spectre filter they recommend but it does not fit at all. Looks like I am going to have to get a short 3.5in k and n. Will this small of a filter hurt my performance or not so much because it isn't n/a?

My car hated that little K&N. Wouldn't make more then 15 psi. If you are running moderate boost it should be better.

A screen cost me 150rwhp on the dyno on an 88.

Anything in front of turbo is a major restriction.

small filter for driving but it will KILL your performance. my car picked up 7 tenths by removing my small k&n filter. fab a large filter in the fender well so that turbo can breath.

I seen in on3's website on there 94-95 white moc up car that they had a 4" stainless elbo going into the fenderwell. I wonder where they got that?? I have the same kit as well on my sn95 and I run a small spectra. Large one wouldnt fit( too long).

I bought the smaller spectre performance one and it hit bad. I had to order the k and n. I am worried about making too much power as it is a stock block so this may be a good thing for now at least.

That elbow on3 sells for $100, I don't know how well a filter will fit in the fender with the intercooler piping.

Although it may follow supercharger logic to pull from fender beware, turbos move more air through a smaller hole and HATE obstructions.

Save your $100 for something else.

I left the filter on this time on the dyno and was surprised to see the car made 771rw. Wonder what it would have done with it off, I shoulda tried it!

I run a shorty filter, so I know it cant be helping

I ended up buying the k and n shorty. It is the only thing that will fit and I am not running without one on the street... I will lose some hp but will keep junk out of the turbo and engine.c

I run the same filter. I feel the same, espeically after having a turbo failure in the past. Mine was a diff failure, but if you injest something you are done, and where my turbo is it wouldnt take much.
On the MPT70 mine spooled quicker and always seemed to run better w/o the filter but I have no real hp guess. I mainly did it because it made the turbo REAL loud HAHA.
