Last month I bought myself a bone stock 47k mile, black/tan '96 Cobra. It's my daily driver. I don't want it to get as crazy as my Saleen, so I am keeping the mods light and doing little things here and there. I just want to make it a little more fun in my 120 miles of commuting every day. So far, I have installed a K&N drop in filter, Mobil-1 Synthetic, Bosch platinum twin electrode plugs, Motorsport 9mm wires. All was well with that.
Last Saturday I put a Diablo chip in and the car was smoother and pulled harder from 3k to 7k, but the idle drops to 450-500 at a stop, and it sounds horrible, then it jumps up to 1100 or so. I have removed the chip, and re-cleaned the connector to no avail. I finally gave up tonight, and removed it, and the car idles perfect again.
Has this happened to anyone here besides me? Fixes? Re-Burn the chip? Different brand chip? I'm open to suggestions.
