Morning. So I am doing a 90 5.0L swap in the wife's 81 Mustang. I found a T-5 from a 95 Mustang. I have read a few things on here about that you have to swap the input shaft to one from a 85-93 Mustang T-5 because the 95 input shaft and bell housing is longer.

Can I not just put in a 94-95 pilot bearing and use a 94-5 clutch and bolt it in with no issues? Seems that the 85-95 clutches have the same part number. What am I missing that is different between these two transmissions that bolt behind a 5.0L?

You can use a 94-95 trans just be sure to use the matching bellhousing. Also be ready to possiblt hack the shifter hole on the body of the car because the trans will now sit back further as well.
