After 15 years of drag racing I am ready for a change, so I'm putting my mustang up for sale or trade to fund another project. This is a very very nice 1986 Mustang GT street/strip car with the best of everything. I've spent the last 6 years and close to $25k building it from ground up with no expense spared. It has run the best of 10.1 @ 140mph with a 1.5 60ft on a 175 shot (.073jet)
With a 10.1 spinning off the line and a best of 141mph trap speed this car should be an easy high 9 sec pump gas street car with a little suspension tuning or a lighter driver. (I am 285lbs.)
Take a look at the pics and you will see that this is not your average 4 eye car. Car is fast at the track but still plenty dependable to street drive all you want. Motor is 10.8:1 compression so it runs fine on 93 octane. I do have a separate nitrous fuel system that I run VP C16 race gas in when spraying it. I have put a lot of time and money into it to make it the nicest around. Everything mechanical on this car has less than 2000 miles and 30 ¼ mile passes. I do not need to sell it and I'm in no hurry to sell so please don't insult me with low ball offers.

Price is $16500 obo for everything (car, slicks and street tires,4 NOS bottles,etc.) everything you need to go racing.

Also will part out as long as the motor goes first. I want to leave it together until at least the motor sells. Come take a ride and we can pull the motor in 3-4 hours.
I will take $5000 for the motor carb to pan.

$4500 without carb.

$6800 for complete motor and C4 set up.

May also do some trading as long as it is a big item I can resell.

15x4 and 15x8 weld Draglites with street tires.
2- 15x8 Draglites with Hoosier Quick Time Pros and rim screws.
Almost flawless paint, 3" HO fibertrends cowl hood with redline hood shocks, SOS sheet metal wing
New 5.0 resto 87-93 quarter windows, trim and mirrors. 87-93 black interior quarter plastic.
Custom door panels, new dash pad ,carpet, and head liner.
6 point .131wall DOM roll bar with swing out door bars and removable rear bar.
G-force harnesses in all 4 seats.
16 gal poly fuel cell with sending unit, with a custom built aluminum firewall/box.
Custom aluminum console and e-brake trim
Battery in trunk with aluminum box.
All autometer gauges and shift light.
AEM wide band air fuel meter
Full length sub frame connectors
Welded and reinforced torque boxes with battle box kit
Drive shaft loop
Team Z lower and double adjustable upper control arms
All solid spherical ends on rear suspension
SOS anti roll bar
Strange 10 way shocks and struts
Built rear end with welded and trussed axle tubes and 9" ends.
33 spline Strange SS axles for 9" ends with 5/8" wheel studs
33 spline Strange traction loc
3.73 ring and pinion with ARP bolts
LPW rear end girdle
UPR chromoly K member with coil overs, caster camber plates, and bump steer kit.
Upgraded to 87-93 v8 front brakes with long wheel studs. All new brake components front and rear.
Flaming River manual rack with steering shaft.
Griffin aluminum radiator with black magic fan.

Fuel systems
Main system is a 16 gal cell with Holley HP 150 billet fuel pump and regulator, all -8an braided line
NOS system is a 1 gal aluminum fuel cell with a Holley HP 150 billet pump and regulator, also has -8an braded line.
Custom built Quick fuel 950CFM carb with annular boosters. Flows around 870CFM.
Motor
Mexican Block 347
I had all machine work done at a local shop including cutting the rear cap for a 1 piece rear main and added screw in freeze plugs.
I did all the assembly using a zero balance Eagle 4340 forged crank, H beam eagle rods, Probe nitrous alloy pistons, Clevite H bearings. ARP main studs with girdle and ARP 2000 rod bolts.

Trick flow stage 3 cam
AFR 205 part# 1450 heads with a Super Victor 8.2 intake that were port matched together.
Comp Pro Magnum roller rockers
Ford racing link bar hydraulic roller lifters
Sheet metal valve covers
March Alternator bracket, polished aluminum pullies
MSD Pro Billet dizzy with a MSD 6al bax, tach adapter(stock tach works). MSD 2 step with 2 selectable modules.
BBK 1-3/4" headers with 3" collectors, Evac kit, exhaust cut outs and 2chamber flowasters.

Transmission
Art Carr C4 built to withstand 1000Hp. (built when Art Car was still in Texas) I have receipt for $2600 Total Domination Kit.

Mexicans are hard workers! I've had a 9 second car with the beaner block with no problems. Made over 600 to the wheels through a AOD. Have seen 'em go alot higher than that too. If the tune is right, it'll live. GLWS.

The tuneup must be pretty close, it's got a hell of a back half mph. Is the converter speced for a bigger hit or is the so so 60ft just from wheel spin? Looks like it could go some 9.60 -70's with that trap speed if the 60ft was down in the 1.3's. Great looking car.

It was spining in the 60'. You can slow down some videos I have and watch when the front wheels come down the suspension is unloading and it spins. I ran 10.30 @ 128 last year but ran outta gear and the 5k converter seemed too loose. Over the winter I swapped the 4.10s I had for 3.73s and had PTC build me a 4k converter. First time out this year strait off the trailer it ran that [email protected] I'm pretty sure if I played with the shock and strut settings a little more, it would go 9's. This motor in a lighter car would be really awesome. Mine is 3375 with me and fuel cell full. Of course I am 285.

Sale pending on the motor so the roller,tranny, and NOS set up will be up for sale soon if anyone is interested let me know
