I think I found my answer after wording it differently in Google.
The 5.7 vortec in 97 is still basically a old school SBC 350. Whereas the LS is a complete redesign.
Does this sound about correct?
Reason I ask, I know someone with an older 5.7 vortec willing to almost give it away. And thinking about doing a swap into my Fox body. But I want to do a LS swap. I have not even looked at the motor yet, which is why I'm asking. Don't want to waste time driving out to his place to find out it's an older design. Thanks.
