ok gentleman here are my thoughts please feel free to give any advice.
I have a 70 ford ranchero that the engine is going in. The car weighs roughly 3800 lbs with me in it, it has a built C4 and a built 8" with a locker and 3.55s ive been doing alot of research and have decided on a fordstrokers 331 short block, i have read forum after forum of guys raving about there quality and customer service and that spells a win for me. I was thinking of going the AFR 185 but recently have heard some negative things about there valves so im now leaning towards the trickflow TW track heat 170 heads from fordstrokers as they seem to be even a step above the "normal" TW from wherever else, as far as cam i again was thinking of going with a custom hyd roller from fordstrokers. again ANY imput is appreciated i have a weiand stealth manifold and hooker 1 5/8" primary and a edelbrock 4 barrel 650 with vacume secondaries i feel the carb, intake and headers are going to be to restrictive, any input? I of course want im sure what every guy building a sbf wants 500hp i understand that is a very tall order to have a reliable daily drivable 500 hp sbf but i would still like to get as close as possible 400 plus to the ground is definitly in my make me smile range, now i dont drive the car every day more like a cpl thousand miles a year tops but with the new heart in the beast i will drive it much more. again any imput is greatly appreciated.

331 stroker

yea i figured i would get atleast one guy saying to go 347 and honestly i always thought when i built this engine it would be but after much research i just feel like if i did go 347 and i ever had any issues because of it i would feel like the biggest a$$ ever all because i want 16 extra cubes how much more power could i truely make using 347 vs 331 as for the headers and intake i figured i would need better, but a 950 seems huge even if i did go 347. again thanks for all input
