So I always see it's best to run lower numeric gears like 3.27 or 3.55 with a turbo. I'm planning on getting the Hellion single kit which comes with a 62mm. From the dyno graphs I have seen of the kit it makes full boost by ~3000rpm. One graph I saw was making over 400rwtq from 3250-5300ish and peaking at 530.

I'm curious as to what you guys would suggest gear wise, 3.27 or 3.55? The car is a 02 GT, 4r70w and 3600 stall.

Not bad numbers ;)

Maybe I should have been more clear. With the Hellion kit I will be running the stock block. I'm wondering what gears would be best for that setup (power level) and would get me down the track fastest.

After some searching around I think 3.55s might be better. Still open to suggestions from people with first hand experience.

My car was quicker with 3.27 and 27" tire than 26" tire. Then I ran a 28" tire and went even quicker.

Hmmm...I have 4.10s now so maybe I could swap my rear for my buddies 3.27 rear. That way it wouldn't cost me anything and I could see how I liked the 3.27s.

I had a 355 and switched to a 327. It dropped the rpm on the big end a little. Lost alittle 60ft with the 327. Car ran about the same really. I liked the 355 better. On the street it felt better all around.

Typically as you go down numerically it puts more load on the motor and it gets easier to get the car to leave well.

Its not in every situation but the small advantages of more load, easier leaving, and better highway RPMs usually make less gear a better choice.

i chnaged from 373s to 331s and all i can say is WOW!
