So I'm driving to a car show in my 13 with about 1700 miles on it and I get a engine light about a mile down the road. I look at my gauges and notice my air temp says zero. I shut it down restart it and it looks normal again. I continued on my way and the car dropped dead No power and stalling. I get it home and scan it and get a mas air and iac code. wtf Ford. Dam thing was fine the night before. Let's just say I'm pissed. I buy a brand new car to avoid things like this.

Kind of reminds me of when I picked up a 5k mile viper and it spun a bearing after 1200 miles of driving:). Seriously though it may be something very simple like some debris on the MAF wire. In a good way the car is telling you to get it checked out so you don't do damage to your motor...keep us posted.

Do you still have the stock air filter set up on the car?

Sensors go bad sometimes. They'll swap it out and have you running perfect in no time. Its not like it threw a rod out of the block at idle or something. New cars break too they're just fixed under warranty for free.

I agree....post title made it seem like something major had happen. It's a sensor they go bad, I'm sure Ford will fix.

Is this car 100% stock? If so, nothing to worry about - Ford will fix it. Inconvenience? Absolutely.

Mechanical/electrical parts fail, it's a fact. I'm sure Ford will have you up and running as soon as you give them the opportunity to fix it.
We're assuming the car is in stock form.

I'm with the OP. I would be pissed too. Whether you pay a little or a lot for a new car, you're putting money towards something you want to enjoy, not watch it being worked on in the service department.

Ford will fix it major or minor, but it is still an inconvenience.

OP - let us all know what it turns out to be. I'm real curious as I want to hear more real life stories about the car. By the way, congrats on the car. You bought one sick machine!

Is there an IAC display on the 2013? If not....how do you know it was reading zero? If there is, that sounds like it's either unplugged or just a bad sensor.

Sorry for not getting back to you guys. It was the maf meter. I had a bad experience getting the car towed and serviced. Tow guy scraped the hell out of the front and didnt care. ford put the new meter on drove it 30 miles and didn't even clear the codes or wash it after they drove it in the mud. for a $113 part i wish i did it myself. As of now the car has a lund tune jlt intake twin 65mm throttle body and i just got the borla atak mufflers not installed yet. Problems i don't want to take it back for as of now, grinding on take off in 1st gear, clutch pedal sticks half way to the floor at a 6800rpm shift. Other then that i love the car after the tune and tb

If you have clutch issues take it back to the dealership. Better to document now as compared to having a catastrophic failure down the road and then telling the dealership it is broke. If you let them know now they will more likely replace it under warranty when it was first noticed to be having issues as compared to later when they will say you abused it even after noticing there were issues.:)

More than likely a piece of dirt got on the MAF wire. The tech will just replace it since its still under warranty. The only issues we have been seeing on the Shelby's so far is the clutch and second gear problems. The clutch was updated in 2010 so that has been rectified. Second gear synchro is now carbon fiber. However people who beat the hell out of these still manage to strip out second gear. Other than that they are pretty solid cars.

Back in 2002 when I picked up new GT the check engine light came on while driving home from the Dealership, I think it had about 54 Miles on it! I had to take it back and get a POS loaner car, some sensors had failed for some reason, needless to say I was pissed.

im a ford tech..and I can tell you its very common for flys and other debris to get sucked up in MAF sensor and cause it to do exactly what you said usually just needs cleaned which is a perfectly acceptable method but they tried doing even better thing it appears and replaced whole sensor under warranty. If you have problems bring it in the techs dont care its money in there pockets and its warranty work so you dont pay and any ford tech like myself would be honored to fix a gt500..

na svt usually when people dont get them properly installed, and sometimes have found them even when filter is installed just fine so good question.
