88 GT Wheel Fitment

Is there a FAQ anywhere on fitment data?

I have a set of 17x9 20mm offset Cobra R Wheels to put on my car. I need to know my tire options, it seems as though there is great controversy. The car has KYB Shocks, and Ford Racing C Springs. I dont' want to have any issues with rubbing.

255/40/17 ? 245/45/17? 275/40/17?

Thanks for all the help!

I had R's on my 88 with 245/45's up front and had no rubbing other than at full lock. The remedy? I just didn't turn as sharp anymore. I had 255/55/17's in the rear and had to roll the fender lip, educate the inner fender with a BFH and flipped the quads. I did the same on the 89(275/40's all around). The 80 LX(exact same rims/tires that were on the 88) required more attention to the front fender since I relocated the K member forward 3/4" so I had to roll the fender in front of the tire as it made contact only when turning.

Hey racingrosey I just put this on my car with help from the guys here at corral. take off the quad shock and put some good aftermarket lower control arms and you will be fine with all of those sizes.
