Flat mounted intercooler?

I have one of the big 4" core VSracing intercoolers and I've been doing some thinking (car's in storage right now so I can't verify myself)...I am worried about fitting the intercooler, ac condensor and radiator and then keeping the adequate airflow at a stoplight with the ac on with the mark fan going through all that media...my question is: Has anyone mounted their intercooler facing the ground approx. where the swaybar is? I was going to make a little air scoop as well as put two SPAL 6" puller fans on top of the intercooler (as it's facing down) to maintain airflow at low vehicle speeds. Pros: Easier/shorter coldside routing, cooling benefits, no bumper/rad support mods...any cons?
Any thoughts?

I know it has been done, but have not seen it personally. I think maybe procharger did something like that a while back

Yup, Spearaco also had similar for SVOs.
A 3 inch core will fit behind the bumper however...if you were to sell your 4 inch core.

This is the i/c I have waiting to go on my car. I saw it mocked up on a car before I bought it, and it seemed to fit fine. I think I'll just have to remove that plastic lip under the front fascia. If IATs need a little help, I may go with the SPAL pullers mounted on top.
