Intake suggestions...

Just looking for some intake suggestions.

Im stepping up to a DART 331 with AFR 185s, a custom turbo cam, I just have to decide on the intake. I just sold my Cobra intake and the AFR 165s are going too. This is a street car but I may end up at a strip someday.

Just not sure if I should get something like the performer rpm or a box type intake.

thanks

I had just about the same setup. Just sold it. Went threw a few intakes.. The best was the EFI spyder(Victor jr carb intskes plumbed for fuel injector.). Then tried Trick flow R intake. Had a single 88mm turbo then had twin 67mm turbos later with both intakes. More low end torque with the trickflow but much better power over all with the victor jr. The only problem with the carb intakes made for fuel injection is that they do not properly fit the dart block in the rear. Their will be a gap that you will had to fill with a piece of 1/16inch thick flat bar then silicone the crap out of it. If cool with that then go with the carb style untake. I made at 12 lbs boost 93 octane 747 at tires threw automatic. With 25lbs and race gas(cam II) pegged the 1200 hp dyno. (with 88mm) GT4788mm precision..

Take this for what it is worth..

Thanks for the replies guys.

The company that is building my shortblock said that the Holley is right up there but that for street cars they have had the best results from the Performer RPM II.

Im not sure if the ports on either of those intakes match the ports on the AFR 185s...anybody know?

Which intake--the performer or holley?

I suppose they are all pretty close and I could gasket match them.

Slowblown, ask your engine builders if they have actually done any objective comparison dyno tests between the Systemax and Performer on a turbo application. If they have, which I doubt, post the results here for us all to see. Cheers.

I imagine that they have gotten feedback on dyno results from customers. Im not sure though. Its AD performance up in WA--they specialize in Ford and the owner's daily driver is a 331 single turbo. If he has any numbers Ill post them.

thanks
