finally took my quicktime turbo fairmont to 1/4 mile last night

previously went once to the eighth mile. finally got a chance to hit the quartermile track.

stock 93 5.0 shortblock, out of the box gt40x heads, gt40 intake. little wolverine 1190 cam, aod, etc... running 11 psi and low 11's air fuel. converter wont hold the car over 1500 rpms so i can't do anything off the line.

1.699 60ft
4.517 330ft

[email protected] 1/4

scarey thing is, there is so much more left in it. who knows, maybe 9's with more boost and some hook all on a 111k+ mile hyperutectic shortblock!

if you want to make some power, call Bernard! you will not regret it.

never weighed it, but would expect 3250-3300 with me in it (215)

converter is a edge 3k, but won't hold the car past 1500 rpm's. you'll see in the second video i almost redlighted when i went forward.

3.73 gear with 28" tire. it actually grew so much and rubbed my fender real bad on the topend and started a fire in my wheel well. scared the crap out of me.

siemen deka 60lb. injectors with a pro-m blow through universal meter.

also run a sumped tank with 2 walbro 255 inline pumps and 8an to 95 fuel rails with russell fitting. 6an return line from rail to tank.

What do you have for a valve body in the AOD? Lock-up converter?

lock up converter.

pa valvebody: pa53301H shifts 1,2 and 3 is 3rd gear and od. i've only found one dyno that can hold it in 3rd for a pull. has no problems at the track shifting 1,2,3 and for normal driving just put in drive.

may go for a manual vb in the future.

What did that beast end up putting out to the tire?

Were you at all worried about running the 11psi spring and not the 8? Did you previously run the 8lb spring? Like it? Not enough, etc...?

Questions questions - but, you're helping people

ask anything you like, thats what this board is for.

1st ran the 8.5 because Bernard was out of 11's. the plan was to run the 11psi spring from the beginning.

with proper tune 11 psi is nothing. i've run blowers for many years and have never blown a headgasket without a reason. i'm not saying it will never happen, but a good tune is ideal for any car.

i'm should be able to hit the track one more time before the season is over and i'll probably go for broke and run 15 or so psi. i've got another fresh stock blocked motor as a backup so we'll see what happens. low 10's would be crazy, high 9's would be shocking! you never know lol

Pulling for ya!

Thanks for the help - the more I keep reading it seems the more questions I write down in my notebook and then ask on boards. I'm a research junky.

That's the valve body I have also. I called PA and bought every part they sale to try and make the AOD hold up. Just can't get use to not having more control of when the converter locks up. I have a E4OD in my Lightning and can get it to shift just like I want it to.

A tip for you at the dyno. I have a few bags of concrete mix that I put in the trunk if a car is spinning the tires on the dyno. Always use your track tires if you can and I have even used some VHT on the tires to help them stick to the rollers if the concrete doesn't work.
