T6 or T4 Need Help

I have a Garrett TV80102 New rebuilt, compress housing A/R 81, compress wheel 86mm , exhaust housing T6 A/R 1.39 . Ok what I would like to know is there a T4 turbo that would just as good on a 393ci engine with out alot of back press, so I can git headers and cross over pipe . With out paying alot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$ Thanks Chris

I wouldn't run a T4 based turbo on a 393. It will be a choke point. You could run one, but you'll be facing backpressure issues that will limit how much boost you'll be able to get out of the turbo.

I agree with Ben (from Houston) that a single T4 is too small for a 393. Depending on your goals, though, I question how easily you'll spool the TV8102. I actually have one of those turbos and am putting it on a 460.

If you're car car will spend more time on the street, I'd seriously consider a twin setup. I think you'd have better spool characteristics, similar power levels, and easier packaging.

Have a good day!
Michael

If you're talking with Majestic about turbos, I'd imagine they more qualified than any of us to answer that question.

On a side note, though, if you decide not to use the TV8102, PM me if you'd like to sell it. I have a BBF friend who's looking for one.

Have a good day!
Michael

Edit: I just realized the above quote wasn't from the OP. Disregard my comment.

I don't normally like making blanket statements, but around 1000hp is where I'd like to move to a T6 on a single turbo. We've done a lot more than that on T4, and had cars with less than that on T6, but it's a decent break point. I wouldn't want to run a T4 housing on a turbo that size.

I agree .. You also need to consider its for 400 ci engine....
They fit these to 2.5 Totota's [1JZGTE] make over 800 rwhp on 30 lb boost...80mm , 1.01 A.R...
Depends on engine build? It would need to be strong enough ....
Garrett TV80102 would be comparable for SINGLE turbo...
