New '06 Owner Looking to go Boosted

Hey guys, just joined. I'm in the process of selling my modded 2004 Pontiac GTO to fund some mods to my new '06 GT.

I stayed all NA on the GTO and this time I'm looking to go turbo. I've heard nothing but good things about the Hellion kit and know of a few 03-04 cobra guys getting massive numbers out of them, so I'm leaning that way.

My plan is to pick up a stroked cobra iron block, forged internals and drop it in the '06 along with a turbo kit. I just have a few questions that i'm sure you've all heard a billion times.

With the hellion kit, how much custom fabbing is required? Coming from the GTO world, everything is so new that all the turbo kits out for them require some fab work to be done in some form or another. Is that not the case here?

Do the cats go away with this kit? I'd prefer to have some cats so would I need to get some hi-flow cats and have them welded into place?

My goal is to be around 700-750rwhp with this setup (stroked forged motor along with the single turbo), I know I'll need an upgraded turbo, along with all supporting mods (Fuel, drivetrain, suspesion, etc...) for that but is otherwise reasonable to assume that this setup can reach this goal?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

my main problem with the hellion kit for the 05-now kit is that they run pipes UNDER the k member and ground clearence is bad. i think that 700 range will be the limit w/ the supplied turbo after you build a short block fuel system etc. that is what i am doing this winter. i just bought the MMR 900 short block and lethal ultimate pro fuel syatem. hellion is a great company but i'd look into powerhowse tho. ALOT of people have had great expirences w/ them and i have'n heard 1 bad thing about them. i have a HP kit, i like it but the wait to get it is long and they had a few issues when i got mine they have fixed now & service was ho hum

06 Auto GT: [email protected] MMR 900 short block, Single 70mm turbo, Lethal Performance "ultimate pro fuel system", SCT Tuned at DynoSpeed Racing in Memphis TN.
