WHo builds custom turbo kits.My way.

I live in the midwest and have been looking into turbos for a fox body.I have looked at some different companies and it seems there is something about each one that I dont like.Cant see spending big bucks when the fit is not quite right.Who in the midwest builds custom kits.

PTK makes a draw thru kit, but I've heard horror storie about their
customer service and delivery time.

Nothing wrong with Blow thru MAF meters as long as it has
nice straight path of at least 8" before meter

You could also make any turbo kit Draw thru with a little common
sense modifying

Another one for Quick Time. Kits are worth more than he sells them for. Get you a meter from PMAS setup for blowthru and your all ready.

Unless something has changed, the PTK kit will not let him keep the smog that he said he would like to keep.

I am aware that only the Hellion allows you to keep smog pump.

Cartech and TTI both have allowed you to keep the smog pump and been that way for probably well over a decade now. There is a small turbo kit company up in your neck of the woods called Turbotime PSI out of Chicago area that it too allows you to keep the smog. Probably other companies as well, definitely is not limited to Hellion.

Technically you need it everywhere since it is a federal law that you have them. But if people are worried about federal laws then they best not be doing a lot of the things they do to a Mustang to put a turbo on it. If I lived somewhere that did not check for them, I personally would have a kit that keeps it for just in case if I ever moved to a place that checks them. What advantage does one get by having a kit that does not allow one to be there at all? If it allows one to be there, it does not mean you have to run it.

The states can not make a law that overrides a federal law. I bet Il just does not require emissions checking on these cars anymore, much like several other states.

Being able to run the smog pump is just a preference of mine.I know smog pumps are kind of a joke but in some areas they are a necessity.

blow thru is way better. i have a vortech on a 02 gt and i went ahead and switched it to a blowthru and an intercooler. driveability is a lot better plus i was able to pull more fuel from the other tune.
blowthru is the way to go IMO
