wastegate

I have two different color wastegate springs. One is the small red and the other is a small green. My question is if i put a boost controller on and turn the boost to 8 psi will i see 8 because there are two different color springs? The red spring is a 5.802 psi and the green is 7.252 psi. I think it will work the only thing I think I would have to worry about is if I take the boost controller off. Am I right?

Without a boost controller, you will see probly the high side of both those springs, like 6#'s and 8#'s maybe a little more(from what I have seen). If you are trying to keep it safe, put the lower # spring in, and use the boost controller to fool actual boost pressure for how much more you want.

If I want to run 9 PSI would they work right since they are both below 9 psi?

Whatever spring you use, with the aid of a boost controller, your boost will never go below that springs rating. So if you use a 10 pound spring and wanted 8 psi, it will never happen. In you case, either spring will work for 9 psi of boost. The 5.8 spring would probably be better to put in the WG because it will give you a little more adjustability for the low side if you ever want to decrease boost.
