thanks, I looked at the Hellion kit and although it does retain the smog pump, it doesnt appear to have a CARB #.

HOWEVER, I found through this page:
ww.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermkt/devices/aftermktdevice.php
That Spearco makes two kits for the 5.0. A 375 hp kit for the 86-92 and a 450 kit for the 90-93's.

PS: Add a w to that link and copy/paste.

Incon is the only turbo kit for the 5.0 which carries a C.A.R.B. exempt number. Not all kit's included the number...but all were available upon request.

Spearco (DDMI) made the first CARB legal one and then Incon took that kit and improved upon it and then the second CARB legal one was born. Neither companies (DDMI or Incon) are still around these days so no way to buy one of those kits "new" although used ones show up rather routinely.

do you have to get your car emission tested no matter what year the car is? In Ontario, Canada it's only 87 and up which have to get tested but we have are way around.

In California the magic year is 1975. Even some 1976 models made in 1975 are exempt.

Up until a few years ago, it was any car that was 25 years old. Our wonderful Governator stopped that.

oh, and that link was to the California Air Resource Board's official listing. Incon is listed there, but looking for a newer kit from a reputable company. Speaco is still around Im sure.

Just move back to the United States of America

We can modify our cars
and even get to use plastic grocery bags still if we want to.

Sorry no help, I think your just SOL unless you find a used Inco kit.
and you have to do some pretty serious strut tower chopping on that kit too.

Spearco(DDMI) quit making those kits before Incon was even around. The person who was part of the whole venture at Spearco, is the person who owned Incon. So an Incon kit would be newer than a Spearco kit and the Incon kit is an improved upon design anyway. Basically you are SOL unless you buy one used that was made from either company. I would not bother with a DDMI kit anyway, their limitations in power is kind of low by todays standards and you could get the same numbers with a CARB approved SC combo with a lot less headaches.
