Race Fuel ??

I'm running a 4v motor with a T76. On 93 octane I have it tuned at 15 lbs. of boost. How much boost could I safely add if I switched to race fuel?

If I remember right its like 2pts of octane per 1psi of boost.

so 5 more psi would need 10 more octane points

100octane and 20 psi should be ok.
wouldnt go much past 20psi on a street engine, thats alot of boost

Alot will depend on compression and timing too. In my turbo buick 15-16 on 93 and with race gas I've seen people put 24-26. Granted thats for a motor built for boost and a tune thats low on timing. Also, depending on the car you might want to add timing with the race gas. Some cars will like more timing than more boost.

It is a built motor but has stock (9.8-1) compression. Right now it is topped out at 18 degrees of timing.

I really don't know enough about alky to even consider switching and trying to tune it at this point, other than I'd have to dump a lot more fuel in it which means bigger injectors. And bigger injectors means switching to a low impedence driver and I'm not really wanting to go that route yet.

Alky will make up for your lack of injector. I bought my kit for Julio at www.alkycontrol.com so you might give kit a call.

+1 a SnowPerformance "Boost Cooler" water/meth injection
system will give you what you are looking for with out the
expense and hassle of race gas.

Most people just use window washer fluid for their water/meth
spray too, cost about $1/gal
