HP turbo fox

Well I finally got the car tuned and completely street friendly. Idles and drives like a stock 5.0. I am very satisfied with the numbers. [email protected] was great at getting this done. James made it look very easy to get tuned. It took only four pulls to get this final number. We did multiple pulls, but when it come down to strokin the keyboard, James I gotta say is on his game!! Big thanks to RWTD!! The phone number is wrong on dyno sheet. Correct number is 251-432-8180

All this is done with the A9L computer, Mach 1 maf(blow through and mafia), 60#inj, alum. windsor sr. heads. Which back in the day(1998) they were the ####, but by todays standards they come up a bit short for higher rpm's as I peaked at 5200rpm.

Final numbers, are 553rwhp and 640rwtq, 14deg timing, 14lbs boost, 93 octane. With 12deg timing it made 525rwhp and 613rwtq and no other changes.

I really like the kit I received from HP. It practically jumped together. I do have the QA1 K-member, so the fitment of the down pipe was no problem. From time I ordered the kit, to when I got it was about 3 1/2 to 4 months. BUT I was not in a hurry for it because I wasnt ready for it. By the time the turbo and stuff showed, I was ready for install. It all worked out for me.

If you are in a hurry for a turbo kit, maybe HP isnt for you unless they have changed their work up times. I believe that they have worked on customer service, because I have not had a problem getting them on the phone.

I have looked at a lot of other kits. I like the way the HP kit is set up. Easy access to spark plugs, turbo is in a good spot, and jet-hot coated pipes. The only one problem I had was the lower radiator hose barely touched the crossover pipe. Easy fix was I splice a piece of pipe(like a vortech upper pipe but for a lower) and shortened the hose a little.

Two thumbs up for HPerformance.

What tuning did your dyno shop use? I need mine tuned badly. Very good numbers! It gives me hope.
