Got to the track for first time on new setup?

I made it to the track tonight for the first time on the new set up. Got one Question last year I was running 3.73 gear on my 331 turbo set up and this year I went with a 3.27. As soon has I see boost I spin them. The best I could do was an 11.60 @125 but was not in it all way. The car is a 5 speed and has drag launch springs, Strange 10ways up front and 50/50 in back and bbk upper and lowers. so what can I do to help with the spinning

Motor ;

stock 302
Trick flow track heat top end
Hp Stage 1 turbo 14 psi
tko 600 w/spec stage 3 clutch
3.27 gears.

Car made 545 rwhp and 627 rwtq

Thanks

What tire were you on? YOu might have to go a smaller rim and a wrinkle wall if your not all ready... get that pressure down to like 12. Other then that Im not sure. Was it a prepped track?

Are your upper control arms adjustable? If they are not I would recommend getting a set of adjustable uppers and setting your pinion angle.

I am running 26 10.5 for now on a stock 15x7 wheel. Should have my rear drag welds in the next week or two.

My control arms are not adjustable That does look to be the next mod is a new rear control arms and anti roll bar from base line.

That's part of your problem.....Stick+3.27's+turbo+ET streets= lose
The tires are part to blame......ET streets aren't worth a hoot with a turbo, especially with a stick and 3.27's........Rear suspension will help too.....

I think that if I could have stayed in it I could of trapped around 130. I know that Rear suspension is a must. I would really like to go with base line but then money is just not there to do it at this time. Has anyone use the the upr stuff if so do you like? How will does it work.

TFScoupe what tires do you think would help?

I've found launching a turbo stick car alot harder than all my other combos.
I'm putting a 2-stage rev limiter on mine just for that reason.

If you haul your car to the track, then I would get ET Drags.....But if you drive to and from the track, then get the M/T ET Drag Radial....Get the 275/60/15....Yes, the 60 series.....It's about 27.5in diameter and will fit fine under a fox without rolling the fenders.....It has the taller sidewall that you need.....

A 2 step is in the car now I just need to get it hooked up. Last year I had now problem hooking but the tune was a little off and I had 3.73 gears.

I can try the et drag radial I have buddy that has a set he is not using. Do you think that a 28 in tall tire would hurt me or help me?

Now that you have the 3.27 gear, the taller tire will help with the tire shock....All the turbo cars that have went from a 3.73 or 4.10 to a 3.27 have the same problem that you're having....The taller gear is putting more of a load on the turbo and is lighting up the tires.....The taller tire will give you more sidewall...You should see better mph with the taller tire...

youre welcome justin..

btw, did ben sell the cobra yet? I know he wants to go class racing now.. There is a rumor that someone is opening a dyno facility in cedar rapids soon. I will be heading up that way for a dyno day in a few months.. In the meantime, dont be a stranger!

No he still has the cobra. But he is getting the coupe ready to go I think he has a motor ready to go into it he just has a little bit of wiring to do to the car.
