I ran one a long time ago and still randomly buy things through them. I remember reading awhile back they were working on doing a twin street kit for fox bodies. The only kit that was all that great that they sold was probably their SN95 Outlaw kit. The other ones are just so outdated and much better options can be had these days.

Me too. changing the driver's side plugs is kinda a bitch on my street sleeper kit, but it works......I'm running low 10's with it.

I'm running 42# injectors.... T64e turbo.... I honestly do not have any times at the moment with this setup. I haven't had it up long enough and the season is just coming back (Midwest weather).

I run one with a T67, the sn95 outlaw kit that is. I am finishing up my project but it works perfect and is very nice.

Had to sell my prized 1994 Turbocharged GT. Downgraded to a turbo diesel VW Jetta 5spd. I still have my motorcycle to go fast though!

I ran a Cartech Outlaw kit on my 87 GT.. I modified it to fit a 351 size motor.. And I modified it to use a PT88 turbo, instead of the T76 that came in the kit..

One of the things I like about the Cartech kit, especially when modifying it, is that it puts the turbo right near the front mounted intercoolers intake.. So piping it is pretty easy..

It ran pretty good like that, as you can see in my signature.. And that was on unleaded gas, with my undersized Cartech wastegate screw turned all the way out.. And full manifold pressure going to the bottom of it's diaphram..

I'm next going to modify the kit to run with a front motor plate, and a T6 turbine housing.. The flange on my drivers side header than now has the cross over pipe connected to it.. Is going to be where I pipe my new 60mm wastegate from.. And I going to make a Y connection with the current crossover pipe into a T6 flange..

With a bigger cam..Ported heads.. And the T6 turbine housing with a 5 inch downpipe (up from the current 4 incher).. I just might be able to get some 8.6's from this setup..

One thing that sucks about the street Cartech kit for Fox body kits is that you have to do a couple of 90 degree turns to get from the turbo outlet into the intercooler inlet.

Not to hi-jack the thread but people say the kit is outdated and what not but if I wanted to run consistent 10's with the fox body SS kit would it still be ok for that?

It can be done and has been done but the problem is depending how much boost you have to run to get there you might run into back pressure issues and be constantly fighting things to stay sealed and what not. I'd use something else if I wanted to run 10s.

From what I hear It's preety easy to run ten's with the ss kit. There is a few guys running stock 302's with a/c running low 11's with drag radials and high tens with slick's. with power steering and air conditioning. Not too many kits factory accessories from what I hear. My kit will be on my car hopefully this month. i will let you know, what I think.

TTI and Turbotime will let you keep all factory accessories like the Cartech SS lets you do. Turbotime looks to be light years ahead in design and it seems to be loosely based on the old T/E kits that have not been made in like a decade now. Look at Trent's old GT for an example of the troubles related to a Cartech SS kit and trying to run in the 10s. There are then a ton of other kits that let you keep all accessories but the smog pump.

I hear rumors about Joe every once in awhile but I think for the most part he is not working on modified cars much at all.

I have no idea on Steve, actually the name only rings a bell in my head and I can not even place it with a face any more. I do not keep up with many of the shops down here. I used to deal with MTI but that was only because a friend was the shop manager there. Prior to that and this dates back a long time, I dealt with Texas Turbo a lot which is how I originally met Joe.

hi jeff

i sent you a PM the other day hoping you could share just what exactly was required to get that cartech outlaw kit to work on your 351w... i know the crossover has to be modded but was there anything else? how did the headers fit?

any info will be greatly appreciated
thanks jeff

ps... do you have any other pics of your setup that you could post or email me ([email protected])?

You only have to add a few inches to the cross over pipe for the kit to work on a 351 w.

I have the cartec outlaw kit with a t-76 gtq trim. On a 306 stock crank and rods and stock e-7's on 25 psi i went 9.92 @138 on dragradials. So call them outdated if you will but they do work.

I thought Jeff had to do more than just extend the crossover pipe or was that because he ran a PT88 that he had to do more?

As far as my outdated comment, never said they do not make power. The newer options out there let you make the power and retain more things on the car.
