Here's a few pics of the engine

Its still not all cleaned up... as you can see I still need to hide a few vac lines, and get a turbo blanket

Any recommendations on a blanket?

Went for a wot run yesterday, and total timing was only about 14 degrees.... so theres a lot of power left in it, just gotta tweak it a little.

The drag strip opens in 3 weeks.... hoping for mid to low 11's

Will

I have a blanket from vs racing.

My fender used to get so hot I could not touch it. Now you can touch it, and the blanket.

Nope, no dyno time yet. I don't really live anywhere close to that I know of that has a dyno. I'll run it at the drag strip in a few weeks.

Thanks for the website for the blanket. I hear ya on the heat. Everything gets waaaaaaaay to hot to touch. Especially the intake pipe above the turbo. It gets hot enough to burn my finger. I'm sure the blanket will help brings temps down all around.

Thanks for the compliments!!

I had a kit just like it last year. I put 480 torque to the rear wheels. FUN for a stock Cobra with 42 lb injectors.

You fuel feed line is right on the downpipe.

my intake pipe gets hot too, but it is also sitting on top of the downpipe. I am working on redoing it now so maybe it won't touch.

The fuel line is nowhere near touching the downpipe. It is close the the wastegate pipe though, but that's why i wrapped it w/ 2000 degree wrap. That stuff works great. I also have part of the lower rad hose wrapped in it.

I have quite a bit left over, so I think im going to wrap the intake pipe with it next. It really does repel the heat like it says it does.

Mustangless, that might be something to look into on using on your intake pipe if you want a cheap fix.

Nice engine bay.. Tempts me to paint my inlet...
I like shields rather than blankets, some nice polished stainless steel shields looks bling bling....Doesn't hold heat in turbine as much either when engine isturned off...
