Garret T3 question...help me out

I have a pair of T3's .48/.63s I believe...The exhaust housing on one of them has a small hairline crack around the hole where I think the wastegate hooks up..the smaller hole beside where the exhaust is. Is this fixable? I would like to get it fixed so I can sell them or would the housing need to be replaced..if so I will just sale as is and let the new owner do with them as he/she pleases..Thanks a lot

if you find one that doesn't have a couple hairline cracks around the hole you're lucky, most do and it doesn't make a difference. is there any shaft play in these?

I can move the shaft a little but not a whole lot...whats it take to rebuild them? Im gonna put them up for sale if i can but I will just sell them low enough so that the buyer can get them fixed or whatever..

A small amount of radial play is normal as long as it's not so much that the wheel's contact the housing. It's the axial play that you need to look for...there should be none.

As far as rebuilding goes, they are not to tough to do and the kit's go for less than $100 on e-bay. You should however get them re-balanced after tearing them apart as you can tear through the bearings pretty quick if it's out of spec at all.

I was told that if the wheels never contacted the housings at all you should be good to go. Just mark the compressor shaft and install the nut exactly at the same spot.
