with a V-6 in the car you will have alot of room for a turbo. the local mustang shop in my area has a V-6 1996 with a 72mm turbo and it ran a high 9 in the quarter.

I have seen a couple of turbocharged V6 stangs in person and was kind of surprised by the lack of room in the engine bay since assumed it would have tons of room to work with. I have a feeling in order for the car to last at that power level you might have to start looking into some upgrades to the motor via perhaps the old super coupes as well as upgrades to the automatic. There is no cheap and reliable way to double the hp of any car.

some version of the 3.8 had headgasket issues. So likely you want to put studs on that. Turbo would cool. But its true, if you want a good, long term solution, be prepared to put some money in.
