Shaft play

Well my T72 has some shaft play in it.

What does that mean, is it still safe to run? Id like to get thru this summer and rebuild it next winter since im rebuilding my motor and doing alot of other things right now.

Is it side to side play or in and out?
Also, are your fins hitting the housing? If so, rebuild now. You are taking a chance not rebuilding. But then again it depends how much slop there is.

Radial play should typically not exceed .90"-.110". If it does its time for a rebuild. We typically rebuild our customers and racers units once they reach that limit or .045-.055 on axial play as well.
