Cold Side Piping

Is is ok to make the cold side piping out of Mild Steel? Stainless mandrel bends cost a fortune and I cannot weld aluminum worth a crap. I just worry about it rusting, is this a concern, would powder coating inside and out work? Any help or advice would be great.

Mild Steel is just fine.

As for aluminium...if you plan out your pipng right...you don't need to weld a single pipe. You could use all silicone couplers to connect the piping.

That is true, but this is on a truck and the piping is very visible. For show purposes I want to set it up as clean and smooth as possible, thus I am trying to eliminate as many couplers and connections as possible.

You could powdercoat or paint it. I have good luck with tractor and farm implement paint (not kidding!)
