I've asked this before, but still need help deciding!

i'm building a 302 T67 single turbo. i'm using TFS TW heads w/ good springs, stock cam with 1.72 rockers, ported cobra intake, 3" downpipe, tial 38mm wastegate, 50mm bov, 2.5" crossover, etc. i'll probably be running about 12 psi of boost, but no more than 15. My question is, will the .68 a/r housing on my turbo cap me before i hit 500rwhp? or not? should i step up to a .81? this is the stock block, so 525rwhp is my absolute limit of what it will make.

It won't cap you at 500rwhp, but the .68a/r housing will cause the complete combination to not be as efficient as it could be with a .81a/r housing. If you are on a budget right now, run the .68a/r housing and switch to the .81a/r housing when you can.

I switched from the 0.81 to 0.68 and like the 0.68.

Boost comes on about 300 rpms sooner with the 0.68, which makes the combo feel much more "lively".

The 0.68 housing was only $65 new (IIRC), and I think it was one of the best mods I have done on my car.

If you are looking for the most top end, then get the 0.81 or 0.96; however, if you want more street fun and still good power then I would recommend the 0.68.

They are so cheap, you should probably try different ones to decide which is best for you.

1990 Mustang GT, Explorer shortblock with DSS MSS, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, stock GT cam with 1.72RR, ported Explorer intake and 65mm TB, PTK T66 kit @ 18psi, AEM EMS + WBO2, Alkycontrol methanol injection: All Sold

yeah that is why i was leaning toward the .68. it is what i have now, and i'm not looking for peaky power, power throughout the powerband. I just wont want this exhaust housing to cap me before i hit 500rwhp. If it will get it done, then i will keep it. It was just a question in my mind if it would cap it or not before i hit my goal.
