Hellion Dyno Results...

Well, the car is tuned, and I'm a tad let down, yet fairly happy at the same time. The car made 335rwhp & 386rwtq @ 10psi with a 5lb. spring in the wastegate. EGT's were actually dropping at WOT. We're thinking the B303 might be hurting the power level some due to not enough lobe separation, and there is anywhere from 70 to 100+ rwhp left on the table. The car is by no means a pig, but just didn't make the power I was expecting. Regardless, its nice to have a running turbo car sitting in the drive.

Yes the B303 is hurting you, a stock cam would make more power with the turbo setup than a B303. Swap it out to a F303, E303, or a stock cam for a cheap swap that will work well with the turbo.

Cam Motion comes highly recommended for a custom grind turbo spec cam.

Did they just kill the motor right after the pull in the first video??? That's real good for the turbo's bearings....

I made 430/510 with the stock cam...granted I have GT40 heads and a cobra intake but they don't flow that great...

Put a stock cam in the car and go from there...

What was your f/p at? A/F ratio? Timing?

I've got a ported Cobra upper and lower, and the E7's are ported as well. There are a few other mods too. I talked to Urist yesterday, and he's thinking there's something not hooked up right in the kit, and that the cam isn't robbing that much power. I think he's right. I'm going to recheck everything, and go from there. I'm probably going to stick a mechanical boost gauge on there to see if the electrical one is reading right. Like I mentioned above, it has the 5lb. spring in the gate, but the gauge is reading 10-11psi. The numbers it made on the dyno would be about right if it was actually making 5-6lbs. of boost. Not exactly sure what the f/p and timing are at now since it was done through the tune. Prior to that, it was locked at about 17 degrees with the spout out, and f/p was was set around 34psi. My a/f ratio is right around 11.8-11.9 across the board.

All I can say is I have watched people who had B303 cams swap back to stockers on turbo apps and end up gaining a huge amount of power. Usually in the tq department more so than the hp department. So even if something is hooked up wrong, I would still swap out that cam because it is not a helpful cam for a turbo app.

What was your EGT readings at? Where they taken at the turbo, headers, or downpipe? I assume you got a custom chip with a A/F reading through the pull.

EGT is reading from the headers, and would get as high as about 950 degrees, and then start dropping. They'd get down to like 570 or so degrees. Yes, I have a custom chip.

Your numbers sound just right for 5 psi.

My Autometer boost gauge reads 2-3 psi higher than my AEM MAP sensor...

Damn. Your stang looks exactly like mine (minus the rims). That sounds good with the turbo, and if you could get that extra 100 hp out of it, it'd be a beast.
