turbo & Gt40p heads??

im considering selling the s/c and going turbo route. Is there any way to even turbo a 5.0 w/ the gt40p heads. They need specific headers for the plug angles as it is, so is it impossible to run these heads w/ a turbo without going into custom manifolds??

It depends.

I ran a TTI kit w/a P specific driver side header, the log manifold worked fine. If you're going the twin route, you need to find out what manifolds they're using, are they built in-house or are they using someone else's? There's no easy answer, you have to mock it up w/the manifolds you'll be using to find out.

Don't do it! P heads are great for this application. I have em on mine. Flipped shorties are better with the Ps. I have a bunch of photos of the same flipped headers on both. Also, with the Ps, you use 90 degree angled plug wires and everything fits against the valve cover, No floppy loose burnt wires. My car is making nice power even on an incomplete dyno run.

Pictures of E7 versus GT40P heads

Here are two comparisons showing the plug location of E7 heads and GT40P heads relative to stock mustang headers that are flipped and modified to accept T3 turbos. What you can see is that the P heads are actually better for plug clearance: the plugs go nicesly under the tubes.
