Info on Incon kits needed

I am looking for info on the old Incon kits. I am interested in a kit with a Ca. E.O. number. The only kits that have one are:

DDMI
Incon
Spearco

Info from the C.A.R.B. website: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/aftermk...rmktdevice.php

If I pull up the info on a specific E.O., the .pdf gives info, but not enough to help me decide which kit I need. Here's what the .pdf says about the Incon kits, for example:

Two Garrett Airesearch T-25 turbochargers wtih a turbine area ratio (A/R) of 0.64, two open element replacement air cleaners, ...

I guess what I need to know is when I am searching for a used kit, how will I know which kits are the correct ones with the E.O. numbers?

Most of the kits for sale are called, '87-93 Mustang Incon TT600 Kit', for example.

I'd like to know what to search for, since Incon is now defunct and I can't get any info from them.

Thanks in advance for any info.

What you are going to want is an Incon 800tti The Spearco/DDMI and Incon 600 all are good kits but the turbos run out of poop kind of early and judging by your existing combination you would not be happy with one.

Great info, because I see quite a few of them advertised. Do you know if the 800tti kit also has the C.A.R.B. E.O. number?

I'm starting to get the bug. I need to be careful not to go overboard since I still have the stock block.

I must be getting bored and wanting to do something new.

I will check to see for any CARB #'s later, just in case

Pretty certain it has an EO number, now if that number is on a piece of it that is beyond my knowledge.

Thanks for the help.

On the bright side, I guess that I could just bring in the documentation from the carb website, which has the E.O. info on it. It doesn't actually have the model number of the turbo, so I don't know if a smog tech would be able to fail me without appropriate info.

If it's an Incon kit, and C.A.R.B. has an E.O. number for one, then I should hopefully be able to get by. I know that the techs are more concerned with making sure that they follow the rules and that you have your documentation in order, so maybe that will be sufficient.

i just took a quick look, and i dont see any markings for the E.O, maybe contact shaneh or twinturbostrkr (sp?) on turbomustangs.com, both those guys have lots of experience with the kits, and had them when new

fwiw, i would be looking to sell my kit, but mine has a .86 turbine housing's, not sure how that effects emissions, but odd they specify .64

good luck

Thanks Superskwrl, I PM'd him.

Now, if it is the 600 kit that is exempt and not the 800 kit, would the 600 kit support 500 or so rwhp/rwtq on a 306 with h/c/i? Snipe, I know you said they run out of poop pretty early, but I wouldn't be going crazy with one on a smog-legal car anyway. If it put out 500 rwhp/500rwtq I'd probably be satisfied. Then again, if it limits any future growth, that probably wouldn't be good.

Sorry for all of the questions, it's tough to track down info when the C.A.R.B. doc is so vague, and Incon is now out of business.

I would not waste my time on a 600 kit, if you could even find one since it is my understanding that kit was more less an experiment and very few were made. I am pretty certain the 800 has an EO number. The 600 kit might make those numbers but I would not expect much more unless you push those turbos very hard.

The carb number itself is #469 and the kit that you would want is the 800 TTI Kit with the .86 housings...

Awesome, exactly what I need, thanks very much.

Does your 800 tti kit actually have an E.O. number plate on it somewhere?

I had similar concerns about my set-up to be. My 800tti kit does not have the carb # stamped/tagged/or attached anywhere on any part of the kit that I can see. I called my local emission testing center, and was told they would inspect the kit and parts to see if everything was what it was suppose to be, I'm not sure if they have a parts list for the kit, maybe that was supplied when Incon applied for the CARB #.

When the 600 kit came out, it had an approved EO#. However at the same time, they announced that they had a 800 TTI Kit and the company was working on getting a EO#

I have a complete 600 kit for sale minus the injectors. Make me an offer if interested.
