Have you had that thing on the dyno?? How much boost are you running?

I'm sweating my rocks off about pushing 450whp or so through my stock block, and you're running 9's. Absolutely awesome...

I have been trying to follow up on your car for some time. My combo is similar except i have the AFR 165's and a Performer RPM 2 intake. I know its just a rebuilt shortblock (stock pistons, rods, and crank) but how much boost, what kind of fuel, plugs, power etc..... if its not to much of a hassle. Also, how much does your car weigh? Thanks man,

Derek

This time fuel was 3 gallons 94 octane pump, adn 2 gallons C16. Plugs are NGK "8" heat range race plugs, not sure about power. Car is 3100 pounds with my 240 pound ass in it...

Stock fuel rails with modded inlet, 42# injectors, 3" exhaust.....

second, IF I called you out, that must have been years ago, and you were probably a hooker.

So I am glad I served as inspiration to build whatever contraption you are trying to patch together....

Damn Toma, awsome #'s for such a sedate setup. Maybe if i can get my car lightened up a bit, it should run close to yours, i am running a Tremec.

How much boost were you pushing?

Thanks

Toma, do you run larger fuel lines from the tank to the fuel rails? How much boost are you running. Have you ever split a block doing this kind of thing? Let us know.

twin parallel external 255's, #8 line to regulator, #6 line to stock fuel rail with the inlet mod.....

boost was 16-17 psi.

Nope, never split a block. This motor has been making similar power for years, though the cars I have had it in have changed....

Thanks Toma, your car is a hard runner and i hope mine performs close to yours. This is my 2nd incon equipped car. The 1st was a stock longblock 93 LX with an Explorer intake and it went [email protected] w/ 12 psi/ 93 oct. I know the car would have gone faster after some tuning and more track time, it was only its 3rd visit to the track before the car got stolen (RIP) So basiclly i am building this car in memory of my LX.

Dang man. Mild setup, and a little boost=9's ? That's nuts. Really makes me wonder what mine will do. It's a carbed 67, with AFR's and the same cam, same size exhuast. Trying to only run 10 psi though. I like my block, but its addictive. NICE numbers man.

i've seen people have to step down to a 2.73 gear to get more out of their combo with turbo stuff flying like this, why exactly is that?

I'd love to switch back to 3.55s and run a hi-fi t60 with the 5 spd. that seems it would be ALOT of fun all of the 6.0 recalls at work i have to work on you drive them and when that turbo kicks on its like a whole new bank of cylinders showed up.

The reason why you can run a numericlly lower gear is turbos make peak torque early in the rpm's and sustain a lot of torque through the entire rpm range.

A long first gear helps get the boost up, unlike a supercharger that needs to spin the motor up fast to get boost.

Yea Toma's tunning rocks. The car is crazy fast, been squashed good bye it.

That's impressive...but I always cringe when I read stuff like this. Can you do it? Obviously. Should you do it? That's another story. I just don't see that motor holding up as you have to be pushing over 600 ft/#'s of tourque. Good luck keeping that thing together.

LOL.... yeah yeah, I know.... but I have had the motor now for 5 years, and it is in its second chassis And this it the first time it was really on race gas...its has run tons of 130 to 139 mph runs on pump gas....

I hope my stock shortblock will hold up to my punishment like yours does!

Had to sell my prized 1994 Turbocharged GT. Downgraded to a turbo diesel VW Jetta 5spd. I still have my motorcycle to go fast though!

Similar results with all three "systems"
stock A9l (36# maf tube, 42# injectors)
A9L with my chip
AEM
Turbos are Incons own, they are smallish, but dual ball bearing
28" tire

Anyway the popular incon TT set up has always been popular but with a 5 speed Mustang Im not sure it would get much traction because of the fast spool rate??I was wondering if the 3:55 Gears 26 inch tire would be to much even for a Single Turbo stock 5.0?? My car is going to be built for the street. The only thing I have to decide is going to a Turbo setup or going with Nitrous?? I know you can't go wrong with either one as far as Power and Torque.I just don't know how a 5 speed manual reacts with a Turbocarhed setup .I have heard that automatics are superior with turbo's??I don't know if that was a drag racing comment or not but i love my 5 speed and have no idea what to expect as far as the feel of the car with a 60 or 62-1 Turbo??
