DIY TURBO QUESTIONS/SUGGESTIONS!!!

BEGINNING WORK ON A SINGLE TURBO SETUP ON AN 87 GT. SINGLE UNIT MOUNTED ON PS. HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH MOUNTING, TUBING, FUEL, TUNE, ETC. BUT, I AM IN QUESTION ABOUT THE USE OF A EXTERNAL WASTEGATE, AND BLOW OFF VALVE. FIRST OFF, WE ARE BUILDING A MILD SETUP FOR A STREET/SHOW USE ONLY. WE ARE NOT LOOKING TO BOOST ANYMORE THAN 8-10 PSI. AS FAR AS THE SETUP GOES, WHERE IS THE BEST POSITION TO MOUNT THE WASTEGATE AND BLOWOFF? DO BOTH HAVE TO BE USED? ANY TIPS AND POINTERS WOULD BE A HUGE HELP. PICS ARE WELCOME. FEEL FREE TO GIVE ME ANY AND ALL OPINIONS!!! THANKS CORRAL!!!

Turbomustangs.com has many pics of where various people mount them in their setups, and i think there are some here too, as far as using both, its a good idea, wastegates limit the boost you run, and bov deals with compressor surge, which is a bad thing.

The FAQ's pages in the forums on turbomustangs should get you pointed in the right direction, There are very few things not touched on in there.

Use a TiAL Sport 38mm Wastgate with a small blue spring. That will give you around 8 psi. You'll want the WG mounted in a way to give smooth flow from the hot side tubing into the WG preferably less then a 90* turn into the WG tube. Mines about a 45* angle. Also use a TiAL Sport 50mm BOV. I have my WG a few inches before the turbine in the hot side merge pipe and my BOV a few inches after the compressor outlet before the MAF.
