Jesus christ, if they can run 25 pounds of boost on C16 on a 12.3:1 mod motor you can run a good amount of boost on an 11.7:1 357. I'd run C16 only and something intercooled, but you'll be fine.

Well 14.7 pounds of boost doubles compression, so 8.5:1 at 10 pounds yeilds about 14:1 final. 11.7 at 3 pounds is about 14:1 final. 11.7 at 6 pounds is 16.5:1, about the same as 8.5:1 at 13 pounds of boost.
I see a lot of people running 10 pounds on 8.5:1 on pump gas, so it can be done, very low boost unless like turbo50h said you run alcohol.

a mod motor is an absolutely terrible comparison for boost/timing/compression limits in regards to a windsor motor.

It's close enough. If they can run that much boost on C16 there is NO reason why he can't run 10-15 pounds of boost on an aluminum headed windsor with C16.

Of coarse he can boost it! What 1987stang said was true, however alcohols is not needed. Heavy intercooling is a must along with high high octane fuel and of coarse back off some timing and set your tune correctly. However, if this is not a "race car" I would'nt recomend high boost apps. Have fun! Higher compression motors will always out-power low comp ones at equal boost pressures. Low comp can just avoid detonation better in high boost apps! Just remember as with any setup, the tune is the key to longer life!

well it is about time some one has told me some type of information.
yes it will be a full race motor when the turbo is on and yes it will be intercooled.
thanks for some direction, I really had no idea that you could run a supercharger or a turbo on a high compression motor
