Baseline results from LT1 single turbo

Since you guys have given me some good advice for my LT1 turbo project, I figured you may be interested in the results.

Here are some pics-

http://www.chitownsyty.com/gallery/v..._albumName=jim

Basics of the buildup are 357ci, AFR heads, 214/222 hyd roller, 9.2-1 compression, FAST bank to bank with WB o2, dual intank walbro 255's and 83lb injectors, Innovative GT80BB 1.32 A/R, Innovative indy gate, 6-speed, 3.42 gears.

Allthough I havn't got the boost controller installed yet, I strapped the car down on the dyno and was just using vacuum t's in the wastegate line to vary boost.

With 100 octane, it surged to 20 psi at 4,600, and then dropped off to around 16.

It made 645rwhp at 5,070 and 700rwtq at 4,650. Both HP and torque lines were on a steep incline until boost dropped.

Hopefully when I get the boost controller installed and see some steady boost it will lay down some REAL hp

Man, that is too sweet. Makes you wonder what a tweaked LS1 with that set-up would do. Are you running the six-speed or auto? I see a new transmission and rear-end in your future!

Right on.
Can you take the center section out the fascia to increase airflow over the intercooler. I am not sure if it'd look baad or not.

Simply awesome , and a clean install at that.

Is that black paint on the header some sort of high temperature coating?

Congrats!

Thanks guys

-I would rather not cut out the bumper for IC airflow. The bottom of the bumper curves up to the top of the IC core, so airflow should be sufficient. I'll get a pic from underneath for you.

The trans is a rebuilt 6-speed with a McLeod twin disc clutch. It also has a 12-bolt with 3.42's.

The headers are ceramic coated by Lo-Ko. So far it seems to be holding up nicely.

BTW, I just got back from WFC-6. I'm amazed by the numbers those turbo/blower cars are putting down!
