T64, 331, wastegate questions?

Looking into building my own single setup. Goals on stock block are 530 fwhp or around 450 rwhp? I want to keep the boost below 10 psi because of the 9.5 to 1 compression? Do you guys think I will be able to get away with a 35 mm Tial gate or do I need to step it up?

Thanks,
Anthony

I think the lowest it'll handle is 10 psi. Any lower than that I suggest maybe a 40mm.

with the 10 psi that you want, the tial 35mm is fine.

Thanks, twinturbosaleen thats what I was looking for, if it will work with a T-76 then I would assume that it will work with a t-64. If worst comes to worst i'll throw another 35 mm on there, then I'll be set for sure.

Quick tip, if you get a 35mm Tial w/ a .65 spring (9psi) and want it lower simply hook the boost reference to the lower port on the gate and leave the top one to atmosphere. This should give you between 6-7psi.

I'm a little confused on the line connections for the wastegate. Is the top one for a manual boost controller? If so, is the lower port connected to the turbo's boost reference, and the top port connected directly to the boost controller?

I'm using a TurboXs Hi-Performance boost controller connected as mentioned, but I'm not sure if it's connected correctly. I have it set it to the lowest setting possible, but boost will go as high as 15-16psi The boost controller is brand new, so I'm wondering if the way it's connected is the problem.
