I HAVE A FEW PROBLEMS THAT COULD BE HELPED WITH YOUR OPINIONS AND EXPERIENCE. I ORDERED A DSS R331 LONGBLOCK AND A TURBO SYSTEM THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD FOR APPX. 1000 HP. I AM DOING IT ALL THE RIGHT WAY. TRYING NOT TO CUT CORNERS. I AM UP HERE IN COLORADO.
I AM NOW SEARCHING FOR INJECTORS... I WAS AT A LOCAL SHOP YESTERDAY ASKING FOR 72 LB INJECTORS AND THE GUY LOOKED AT ME LIKE I WAS STUPID. HE SAID THAT 42 LB INJECTORS WOULD DO PLENTY FINE SINCE HIS 400 C.I. WITH A 14 PSI BLOWER ONLY USED 42 LB INJECTORS. HE ALSO SAID 1000HP WAS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN UP HERE (MILE HIGH). THEY OTHER GUY SAID I MIGHT BE ABLE TO GET AWAY WITH 72LB INJ AT SEA LEVEL. I KNOW IT WOULD REQUIRE VERY HIGH OCTANE GAS BUT HE SAID IT WOULD REQUIRE ALCOHOL! (DEFINATELY NOT DOING)
I HAVE SEEN AND HEARD OF MANY 1000HP CAPABLE DAILY DRIVERS THAT DRIVE LOW PSI ON THE STREET.
SO WHAT INJECTORS? IS 1000HP AT ALL POSSIBLE WITH MY COMBO WITH GOOD GAS? ANY HELP OR INPUT IS APPRECIATED!
2nd, many of the guys at theturboforums are using 83lb low impedence injectors for their 750-850rwhp setups (essentially ~1000fwhp). I'm not sure how your altitude will affect things, but I can tell you for sure that my 42lb injectors were around 90% duty cycle at 530rwhp. They had NOTHING left in them.
