351c and Turbo

Has anyone here ever had or seen a 351c with a turbo or twin turbos? What would the horsepower limits be on a stock '73 block? My current block is a '73 2v bored .030. I am looking to build from there but understand that .030 is the limit on the stock block. Does this meen that my best bet is to go with DART 351 fsb with cleveland main sizing.
'Nuff for now.

Plenty down here in Australia with blown motors.
They can split bores especially with alot of piston clearance and [older type]forged piston rattling around in there, with modern type closser clearances there isn't such a problem. They go very hard with boost..

I thought about this myself. I think the biggest problem with a turbo'd Cleveland would be trying to find heads that aren't going to cause detonation. Simply put, if you use 4V heads, the small chambers will give you too high compression for any decent boost (my engine is 10.8:1 with dished pistons and slightly milled heads), but if you use the 2V heads, they're not going to flow well and the inefficient chambers may cause detonation problems. Maybe the aussie 2Vs would work here, but they're also a bit small on the ports and a bit high on the compression.

Aussie compression for 351 is around 8:5 to 1 std open chamber..We actually install tongues in their ports to increase flow speed, velocity especially on the lower part on exhaust port..
600-800+hp easy...

xr8240,
Are you getting 600-800hp on the stock block? 2 bolt or 4 bolt? My block is all ready .030 over and I am concerned about the cylinder walls being to thin.
Any problems with detonation at that hp level with the open chambers?

Thanks,
Leeb

I have a 5 Ltr Windsor EFI.. But the 351C and 302C are VERY popular down here as far as Fords go. Yes there is always concerns with cylinder wall splitting, but generally thats with too much piston clearance with older type forged pistons. Most our h.p engines are converted to 4 bolt mains. Our combustion chamber [heads] and engine forging may be different too. Most are suppercharged not turbo'd.. But there mid to higher rev range takes some beating. Even now at our annaul horsepower hero's the Clevo often come out on top in n/a class..[url]
