Thinking about going turbo with my 1969 mustang fastback with 351 windsor. If anyone knows anyone that's done it and or what and where they are getting and using for headers please need opinions or options anyway. Hoping I dont have to have someone build them for me. Looking for single passenger side turbo setup is my goal
Do some searching on www.theturboforums.com I know there's some early mustangs with turbos. CX racing makes a kit for the early cars, but I know nothing about them. I know shock tower to header clearance is a big problem.
I may be of no help, but can stock manifolds be used, flipped? Obviously there will be crossover work to be done to make single turbo, but would any cast manifold work? Just throwing out random ideas here....
Yes, the stock cast iron manifolds can be used. There is a build thread on the turbo forums where they did just that. Ugly, heavy, 100% cool in my book. Car ran in the 10s if I remember correctly.
Thanks guys, yea I've found the early style mustang's have their own kits but no one makes one for my bodystyle go figure. I think I'm going to try the cast manifold route flipped hopefully that works out, I dont have an issue making my own crossover just really didnt want to have to make headers too. Figures your not able to post pics cause those would be so helpful just to see how you ended up doing it
Hedman 88400 they are about $170 new/shipped on ebay.
