What do you think of this intercooler?

Posted on NMRA Racing:

Custom Spearco Air-water cooler integrated into sheetmetal aluminum intake. Easily support 1000hp. Polished finish. Mates to Edelbrock Performer/Performer RPM lower. Well over $1200 invested plus polishing. Sell for $800.

Aeroquip blue hose and -AN fittings for above cooler. $200+invested. Sell for $100.

Triangle Engineering 5gal aluminum sumped fuel cell used for water/ice chest. $200. Sell for $120.

Jabsco water pump for above cooler setup. $140 new. New in box. Sell for $100.

What do you think about it? I think it looks great! He has a 5GAL fuel cell he uses for an ice box, and runs with the water pump. He says the water temp only rises 5% or so.

I was looking at the same intake... But really, I don't know if I'd buy it...

There's alot of 90 degree bends, tight radiuses, and if it flows like I think it does, it gets really corked up right before the inlet to lower manifold...

I've been trying to think of a way to basically do the same thing, but not the way he was doing it...

I'm not dissing the guys work, it's beautiful, but there's got to be a better way...
