Car was running, went boom, then it started running real bad.

Finished up the turbo install today. The car was idling good, have the fuel set at 40lbs, and the temp was normal, and the boost level was fine. Everything looked good.

Pulled out, ran through first, then had a backfire. The car died and wouldn't restart. I finally got the car restarted by putting the gas pedal all the way to the floor. It was missing really bad. Backed the car up, then it started idling okay. Then it started idling bad, then stopped. It started again, but it was still requiring the gas pedal to be all the way on the floorboard. I have checked the vacum lines, and all appears to be in order. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

A long shot? Maybe there was some fuel in your exhaust/ cat and it exploded as you got on it as exhaust got hot. You MAY have broken up the insides of the cat as well. Making for a very restrictive exhaust.???? A thought ???

Check all of your inlet piping, intercooler couplings, MAF, TB etc..... It sounds like you make have unmetered air entering you motor.

Do you have an aftermarket chip?? If so, pull it out and see if the car runs okay

Lightbulb

Try putting some hair spray on the ID of the hoses to help them stay on the pipes better. We prefer "Aquanet Extra Hold" here. This will reduce the chances of this being a regular occurance for you.
