Is this turbo good for a 302?

Hi guys Ive been reading around on here for a while but just joined the forum. Im currently looking for a foxbody to build up. Im assuming I will start with a mostly stock car but plan to build a pretty mean street car that is still somewhat practical on the street. I currently have an almost brand new 69/74/.80sxe with a gated housing that came off of my cummins. My question is would this be a good size turbo to run on a 302? Would it work on a mostly stock motor with fueling mods or should I plan to do heads, cam, and intake first? As far as fuel goes what would I need? Injectors, fuel rails, lift pump and am i missing anything there? Also im wondering how much of a pain it would be to plumb everything considering it is setup to drop in a dodge truck. It has a vband outlet on the compressor side which i have a 90 degree elbow for. The exhaust side is a t3 foot with an "hx40" style outlet which I have a flange for. Any thoughts on this project? The main reason im asking so early in the game is because I have it up for sale but I am considering just keeping it if it would be useful with my next project. Thanks

I haven't done any research on that turbo, and I wouldn't plan my build around a turbo that I just had laying around. Figure out your expectations and end results for your build, than choose the turbo to fit your needs. A stock 302, some good fuel delivery components, basic on3 kit, and a good tune will shock most people on a performance aspect, and still behave like a stock 302. That said, welcome to the forums, and good luck.

Yeah im seeing that the one on in the on3 kit is around the same size but will all bolt up. I think i will stick to selling this and just getting the kit when I am ready. And my goals are to go very fast and still somewhat daily drive it lol.

Lift pump? Don't think you'll need one for the Mustang! Keep that for the Cummings lol.
As far as supporting modifications, you mentioned On3.
Their base kit can be slapped on your bone stock foxbody.

A 225 direct replacement drop in pump will be fine.
A set of injectors will be good. I'd start with a set of cheap 80#.

No burning need to modify anything else, other than a "tune."
A basic On3 kit, 255 pump and a set of 80# injectors will be adequate to make enough power to blow up your motor. Target your boost to about 10-12psi and your motor will hold it.

Past any of that, you'll have to do a heavy wallet reduction modification.
Keep it simple & enjoy it for what it is!

I would not mess with a gated housing.

I run an ON3 hot side with some small changes.

With a PT7675CEA it was close to 1000 HP. It spooled like a fool.

With a big race custom mid frame T04 flange with a 4.5 inch down pipe that ON3 hot side supports way over 1000.

My ON3 kit is now at end of life. It has so many patches and welds and is getting so thin it is almost unrepairable when it cracks. This from 65 psi back pressure and all that heat and shaking. But for the price I'm pretty happy. Get an ON3 kit and just change turbos later.

Thats the plan. A simple build with good parts. Thanks for the advice. Going look at a car tomorrow so wish me luck!
