TURBO AND CARB ?

Ok I have got a new 351 going back together and was wondering if it is possible or feasable to run a turbo and carb on the street? Ive got 10:1 compression right now so I know I shouldnt run much boost, but could I?

Nothing, it has been sitting in my driveway and some in the garage and some in the closet and some in the barn and some......... You get the idea..

Sure you can. A month or 2 ago, there was a guy in MM&FF running 9's with a blow-through carb setup. I know there are a couple on www.turbomustangs.com that do, and there are probably a couple here.

You have to get solid floats, mill the choke horn, block off the hole for the choke arm, jet it mega-fat to start with. Some install the 50CC accelerator pump, some don't. Most I have read about go to about a 3.5 or so power valve. You'll need a rising rate fuel pressure regulator (Mallory 4309 is the one that seems to pop up the most) and a fuel pump that can do at least 7psi more than the amount of boost you will run (10psi of boost needs 17psi of fuel pressure, for example). I am sure I missed a few things, though.

[edit] With 10:1 compression, I wouldn't run much boost...
