500 rwhp on 6-7 psi

Im wanting to add boost to reach about 500 rwhp but keep the stock block for now. Id like a turbo that will do well at 6-7 psi on the stock block but still have lots of room to grow once i can complete a dart 331 build. Keep in mind i DONT want to lower the 11.1 compression of the stock block. This car will be a race gas only car. Id like 500 rwhp for stock block, but potential for 750+ rwhp later.

There will be some changes made to make this switch.

1. Add a dss girdle to block for now
2. Swap n91 for boost cam (opinions ?)
3. Larger injectors

Which turbo?
Which cam?

Thx

Save your money on the girdle it won't help, the compression and cam are currently paired fairly well, I don't know the correct answer on how to change one and not the other.

So here's what I've got right now. I believe it pretty much matches your goals. Will give you ideas.

Stock bottom end freshened and zero decked. Main ARP studs. ARP wavelock rod bolts.
Trick Flow Track heat HCI upper engine kit. ARP head studs.
Trick Flow stage 1 cam.
On3 70mm turbo kit.
42lb injectors.
255lph high pressure fuel pump.
70mm Accufab TB
Blow through MAF welded into cold side.

Safe 91-92 octane pump gas tune.
6 psi spring in wastegate.

See my signature for numbers @ the wheels. I have now put over 4k miles on this setup. On3 wastegate was leaking slightly and stuck open twice. Replaced with Precision gate. Put in the '7.5 psi' spring, now seeing 8-9psi on a longer pull. Goes like crazy!! Significant increase @ high boost levels...probably around 500rwhp.

11:1 compression??? I believe that the stock block with stock heads is 9:1 compression. Do you have some different heads and/or pistons in your motor?

Wondering how you like your Astro A5 trans?? I was checking out their website. Wondering how you came to the A5 as a choice? I was looking at Tremec TKO line, but maybe the Astro is the way to go??

I rebuilt my trans with D&D perfromance rebuild kit with heavier input shaft, 2nd and 3rd gears, and 2nd 3rd gear counter shaft. So far it is holding together, but who knows...??

I only have a handful of miles on it but so far so good. Shifts great with a MGW shifter. I came across a killer deal on here for a brand new A5 about an hour away so I went and bought it. Mine has a G Force case as well and says it's rated at 600tq. Seems like a lot of people have good luck with Astro. If it ever goes then I'll most likely go auto with the turbo set up.

Hey I've got another 89GT with an on3! Mines got a 76mm turbo and AFR heads, TFS stage1 cam, Holley systemax intake, I'm excited to see two successes with such a similar build. Mine will be on the road in a few days.
