Who is going fast on 8.5:1 compression?

I was told by lets just say for now a friend that my 8.5 compression will make some serious steam, ! Now mind you! The piston is 33 in the hole and has 62cc heads. S480 turbo.. 302 based setup. So what do you think?

I have about that compression and made 1000+ with a little PT7675, and now I have an 8280 and easily make 1250. I'm not sure I'd want a piston .033 down though.

Well I called my piston guy and he said it would be fine. It also has 22cc in the combustion chamber. My guy told me its a new thing people are doing. Well I did it on accident ! I am not so sure to be honest. But he keeps telling me it will be fine.

We went 5.32 in the 1/8 with 326 ci 8.4:1 with a garrett gt4708r. It was fast but not enough for Ultra street. Now 338 @ 11.3:1.
I don't know what your goals or intended use is but you will make power and your tuning window is much larger.

May I ask you how much boost it took to run 5.30s? Was you using a T6 or T4 setup.? Thanks for the input fellas. Also my Goal is 5.40 anything.. I will have 351 Cubes using a 3.25 stroke.

I'm around that compression with my 331. I went 9.40s last year without pushing my 76mm turbo too hard. I'm running a billet wheel S483 this year...I'm planning on mid 8s in the 1/4...I'd say you will be fine with your compression.

I first turbo combo was a boss block 338 that was about 8.5:1. With a basic S475 it made ~850rwhp..when 8.8's at 154 at 3400#.

I went right at 5.40's over and over track after track with a glide and 23 psi with a T4 7675CEA on Pro Radials. ~3200 lb full interior.

You should not worry too much about running 5.4's even with a T4.
